The Romantic Novelists Association. The RNA is the British Association for Romance novelists and would be romance novelists. They run a very useful New Writers Scheme. Belonging to the RNA shows editors and agents you are serious about romance writing.
E-Harlequin is a large and initially confusing site but a site jammed packed with useful information about writing. It is also a way to connect with many published and would be published writers. Of special interest is the Question and Answer archives, truly a treasure trove of information.
Romance Junkies is a site devoted to the promotion of the romance genre. They have contests, chats and reviews and are very friendly.
The Enneagram Institute has a free personality test and explains personality typing. This is very useful in creating characters, see my related article.
The Newriter is a yahoo group of published and unpublished writers across all genres. It is very friendly and provides a great of support.
Great Writing is an outgrowth of the now defunct BBC’s Get Writing and aims to provide help and support for aspiring writers. They have interviews with published writers and are supportive of the romance genre.
Gonna-Beez is another writing support group. This is much larger and connected with e-harlequin. It again provides much needed help and support.
