With the war drums echoing in her ears, and the sharp northern light glinting off the sharpened swords, Sela stood with trepidation on the shoreline. The dragon ships full of warriors had come, ready for battle and glory.

A linked story to Taken by the Viking, featuring another of the Viken warriors who raided Lindisfarne.
To be published in the UK June 08

Coffee Time Romance says: 5 cups. An amazing read and one filled with interesting historical facts. Ms. Styles has done the research for this book extremely well and makes it an entertaining read. I loved the strong willed and equally strong tempered character of Silvana. Fortis is equally arrogant and strong willed, but short to temper. That makes him a wonderful alpha male in my book. The suspense of the story will have you holding your breath, while the love scenes will make you melt. This book is a must read for anyone who loves historical romances with just a dash of suspense. Ms. Styles is on my author watch list after reading this marvelous book.
The Romance Reader Connection says An intriguing novel, I found the details of Roman life fascinating. I had no idea that such strict values were enforced at that time. The love story between Silvana and Lucius was mildly complex, leaving the reader with a satisfactory sensation at the end of the novel. I truly enjoyed this story. Cataromance says: 4 stars With Sold and Seduced, Michelle Styles transports her readers back to Ancient Rome with her assured storytelling prowess, her astounding historical knowledge and her wonderful ability to make her readers feel as if they are living the story rather than just reading it. Atmospheric, evocative and entrancing, Sold and Seduced is a compelling romantic novel which captivated me from the very first page!
Romance Junkies says: Michele Styles is a much beloved historical author and SOLD AND SEDUCED is a prime example of the reason why her fans are so devoted. With characters so vivid you can see them in your mind’s eye and a plot that will keep you glued to the pages awaiting each battle of wills between Fabius and Lydia. There’s an undertone of some wrong doing from someone associated with Lydia’s father but we’re kept in suspense until near the end of the book. I loved the historical aspect to the storyline and was fascinated by the different types of marriage and Lydia’s horrified reaction to what she perceived as being forced into an archaic marriage. I have to confess I love how Fabius challenges Lydia with the kissing wager. There’s no doubt that it gets her thinking about kissing him constantly and actually seems to bring them closer rather than destroy their relationship.

Romance Junkies says Rarely explored in historical romance, this time period sets A NOBLE CAPTIVE apart from the norm. The island temple comes alive as well as its people's customs with Michelle Styles' unique blend of historical detail and intrigue. Her style is distinctive and made me feel as if I was right there experiencing it all with the characters. I felt the impending storm of emotions and smelled the salt air through her words. An exciting adventure with strong characters you'll root for, A NOBLE CAPTIVE will enchant you.
The Pink Heart Society says: In Helena, Michelle Styles has created a pleasingly complex heroine, one who is both sympathetic and at the same time self-willed, somebody the reader can feel for while at the same time respect. In her hero, Marcus Livius Tullio, Michelle has captured an essentially Roman ‘character’, focusing on all that is admirable about that race, while giving equal weight to Tullio’s own personality and focusing on his own inner turmoils. The Gladiator’s Honour
RNA Romance Prize 2007 finalist
SOLD INTO SLAVERY! A hardened survivor of more than a dozen gladiatorial combats, Gaius Gracchus Valens’s raw masculinity fuels many women’s sexual fantasies. He is a man outside polite society, and Roman noblewoman Julia Antonia knows she should have nothing to do with a man who is little more than a slave.
But, with a wisp of scandal clinging to her stola, she is drawn inexorably towards the forbidden danger Valens represents. Julia is a tantalising reminder of the life he had torn from him. To claim her, Valens must fight one final time – and win!
THE GLADIATOR'S HONOR is an enticing combination of passion and romance, adventure, suspense and political intrigue. Ms. Styles captivating narrative brings ancient Rome to life in amazing detail. Valens and Julia are well suited as hero and heroine, the type of characters who, despite being knocked around a bit in the past, are determined to live as they wish—even if it is outside of polite society. The supporting cast of characters was also quite engaging, especially the more villainous elements.

There's something so thrilling about reading a really good debut novel and, while Michelle Styles' debut is not perfect, there is something quite compelling about it. The setting is one not often seen in historical romance and she manages to create characters who are strong without coming off like 21st century people in fancy dress. With an interesting story culminating in a grand over-the-top yet moving ending, this book definitely signals an author to watch.

Gladiator’s Honour is an enjoyable read. The picturesque detail is so vivid I could practically picture the costumes, the arena, and everyone cheering the events as the gladiators took center stage. THE GLADIATOR'S HONOR is everything that I hoped it would be, and more. Michelle Styles takes us way back in the day to Rome, 65 BC. She presents a lovely picture of Julius Caesar, his court, and the Gladiatorial games that were rampant during this time period...felt like I was living and breathing this story. The writing is superb and did not fail to keep me intrigued at all. The love story is breathtaking and made me wish that it would never end. Michelle Styles has found a new fan in me. THE GLADIATOR'S HONOR will be going on my keeper shelves, which I hope in the near future to fill with more of Ms. Styles' books. Kristal Gorman Romance Reader at Heart
